Statistical Area Level 3 (SA3) Viz

Explore the travel patterns of residents by SA3s in the study area.

Statistical Area Level 3 (SA3) is a geographical boundary defined by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and includes a population of between 30,000-130,000 people. Blue Mountains South and Illawarra Catchment are not included due to small populations in these SA3s.

In 2015/16, the HTS study area was expanded to complete the SA3 Lower Hunter.

The corresponding tables provide the total number of trips, made by residents of the selected SA3, on an average weekday. The total number of trips is further broken down by mode of transport and purpose of travel.

To search for an SA3 by suburb, please see the SA3 by Suburbs document. Results for suburb will be shown by SA3 of best fit based on ABS geographical boundary definitions.
