Kidman Way near Griffith

Transport for NSW is in the early planning stages of a project on the Kidman Way, south of Griffith.

The project includes replacing an irrigation bridge and upgrading the Kidman Way intersections with North Kooba Settlers, Pellizzer, Waide and Marston roads.

The Kidman Way bridge over Benerembah Channel is in poor condition and needs to be replaced. The new bridge will be wider than the current structure, with improved visibility for transport customers.

During early planning for the bridge replacement, we identified road safety and efficiency improvements could be included as part of this project.

These improvements include adding turning lanes and realigning the road for better turning pathways for heavy vehicles. The design will be finalised following feedback from the community.

The replacement bridge will be built on a new alignment minimising traffic impacts during construction.

Following the end of community consultation, we will review all feedback from the community and finalise the bridge and intersection upgrades designs.

We will share more information and start dates with the community when available. Work is expected to take about 18 months to complete.
