Background

Transport for NSW and Roads and Maritime Services asked for feedback on a Review of Environmental Factors for changes to some bus stops along the Macquarie Park to Hurstville bus corridor, mainly serviced by route M41.

The NSW Government has funded the Bus Priority Infrastructure Program. The program aims to improve the reliability of bus services on Sydney’s main bus corridors.

The changes are part of ‘Sydney’s Bus Future’, the NSW Government’s plan to redesign Sydney’s bus network to meet customer needs now and into the future. For more information please visit Sydney's Bus Future.

These changes were developed by Transport for NSW and Roads and Maritime, in consultation with Sydney Buses. Local councils were consulted as part of the early planning work.

Key outcomes of the proposal

  • Making travel times more reliable for customers
  • Contributing to the NSW Government’s target of 95 per cent on-time running of bus services.

Community engagement

Transport for NSW and Roads and Maritime Services asked for feedback in March 2017 on a Review of Environmental Factors for changes to some bus stops along the Macquarie Park to Hurstville bus corridor. The proposed changes to bus stops in City of Ryde, City of Canada Bay, Municipality of Burwood, City of Canterbury-Bankstown, Bayside and Georges River Council areas are mainly serviced by the Metro bus Route M41.

We received feedback from 93 people and organisations. We would like to thank everyone for their comments. The feedback included comments about access, additional walking distances, decreased pedestrian safety and overall justification. We summarised the feedback and our responses into a Submissions report.
