Future Transport Technology Roadmap

The Roadmap sets the direction for how Transport for NSW will use technology, data and innovation in NSW to improve transport over the next three years.

The strategy builds on our first Technology Roadmap released in 2016, which has delivered many improvements across NSW, including the COVID Safe Travel app that delivers notifications to over 100,000 customers every week and our Opal Contactless Payments which is the world’s geographically-largest contactless public transport ticketing system.

In this exciting evolution of our strategy, we share our ambitions, priority programs and pipeline of work to transform transport and deliver a world-class experience. It reflects a stronger focus on new technology innovations to benefit customers and communities. It also aims to turbo-charge how we engage and collaborate with businesses, communities and research groups.
