Open Access Information
The Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act) requires every agency to make certain government information publicly available.
This information is called open access information or mandatory release information. The following Open Access Information is available:
Documents tabled in Parliament
State Transit will include in this section “information about the agency contained in any document tabled in Parliament by or on behalf of the agency, other than any document tabled by order of either House of Parliament”.
State Transit will provide information regarding such documents following those documents being tabled in Parliament.

The disclosure log records information concerning access applications, where State Transit has released information that may be of interest to other members of the public – beyond the individual applying for the information.
If State Transit determines that the information would be of interest to other members of the public, this information will be provided in the table below.
Not all determinations will be included in the disclosure log. Determinations such as those that concern an access application is for personal information, or where there is an overriding public interest against disclosing the information, will not be included.

Available information current available under the Open Access Act
State Transit is required to identify any Open Access Information that is not made publicly available. The record of that information will only be of a general nature.
State Transit has currently determined that there is no Open Access Information that will not be made publicly available.
Disposal of Property
Any access to documents relating to State Transit’s property disposal can be obtained under the Government Information (Public Access) Act.
During the last financial year, State Transit has not disposed of any property.
Guarantee of Service
State Transit has renewed its commitment to raise performance standards on buses in Sydney to meet the objectives and deliverables of the State Plan and the Metropolitan Bus System Contracts.
State Transit’s commitment to customer service is supported by six main aims:
- To ensure that the service delivered reflects the travel needs of customers;
- To operate buses with excellent safety standards for the benefit of passengers, staff, the general public and their property;
- To provide bus services that meet high standards of frequency, timeliness, reliability and cleanliness;
- To provide customers with complete, easily understood and up-to-date service information;
- To develop a good reputation for customer service through polite, courteous and helpful staff; and
- To make services more accessible for all passengers.

State Transit's Contract Register provides details of current contracts over $150,000 in value.
The Information Guide is published in accordance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and contains information including:
(a) the structure and functions of State Transit;
(b) the kinds of information held by State Transit; and
(c) how that information is made available.
State Transit will regularly review this publication guide to ensure currency.
