State Transit launches Mardi Gras Bus 2020

State Transit’s 2020 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras bus hit the road on Sunday 16 February to help celebrate the two-week Mardi Gras festival.

The festival, with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Parade as its highlight, is an international event attracting thousands of visitors to our city from overseas and interstate.

State Transit’s rainbow bus, with the slogan “Get on Board”, is operating out of Randwick Depot and is in service for our customers until March.

State Transit CEO said he is passionate about promoting diversity in the workplace and the community.

“This wrapped bus is an important sign of our continued support of the LGTBQI community, some who are our colleagues who do State Transit proud in the workplace every day,” Mr Eid said.

“STA has a very diverse workforce in many ways and I’m proud as CEO to see we recognise and acknowledge this in various forms, not only for Mardi Gras, but in supported other important events like NAIDOC Week.

“Wrapping the bus is also a great way to share this event with our customers. The bus is sure to brighten up the commute when it rocks up at bus stops throughout the Eastern Suburbs and along Oxford Street into the heart of the CBD.
