Buses replace trains on T3 Bankstown Line during essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork this weekend
Western Sydney passengers, particularly those on the T3 Bankstown Line, are urged to plan ahead with essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork taking place this weekend.
Sydney Trains will have more than 700 staff removing 74 high-priority defects and repairing more than 10km of track.
Enabling works for the Sydney Metro City and Southwest project will take place between Lidcombe and Sydenham at the same time and continue until 5 October.
Buses will also replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield on the T2 Leppington Line and T5 Cumberland Line. T5 customers may need to change trains to continue their journey.
And on the T8 Airport & South Line, buses will replace trains between Macarthur and East Hills. Trains will run between East Hills and the City via the Airport, some to a changed timetable.
Sydney Trains is working hard to minimise the impact of the essential work of the Rail Repair Plan as much as possible. Passengers are encouraged to allow for extra travel time and plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps on their mobile devices.
