The Tea Gardens community, on the NSW Mid-North Coast, are celebrating the launch of their new upgraded jetty and boat ramp, with help from Transport for NSW Maritime.

The Apex Park Boat Ramp facility has received a $776,000 face lift with Maritime financially supporting the project with a $506,974 investment.

Transport for NSW Maritime Director Maritime Infrastructure Nicole Watts said projects like these are vital to improving the lives of local communities.

“Tea Gardens is a hidden gem, attracting boaters and fishers from all over the state,” Ms. Watts said.

“The community has been calling out for upgraded facilities for some time and we are proud to help them get what they deserve, just in time for the upcoming boating season.

“The installation of a new pontoon will not only improve capacity, access and safety for the community of Tea Gardens, but also promote the safe and enjoyable use of the facility for water activities to the wider community.”

These improvements include the installation of a floating centre pontoon, creation of two launching lanes, a new ramp section and turning bay to accommodate the ramp widening and extended parking area.

Transport for NSW has funded more than 391 projects like this one since 2014 to develop, upgrade and deliver public maritime infrastructure and facilities across NSW.
