Changed traffic conditions along the Hume Motorway between Narellan Road and Picton Road

UPDATE - Works will now take place from 14 February 2024

Road users are advised of changed traffic conditions from Sunday 11 February to Thursday 22 February along the Hume Motorway between Narellan Road and Picton Road.

Work will involve the installation of safety barriers on the east to west bridge link over the Hume Motorway and will be undertaken over five-night shifts, weather permitting. The work will take place between 7pm and 5am each shift.

Over size-over mass vehicles that are beyond 3.8 metres wide will be directed to temporarily park in a dedicated space on the Hume Motorway until they’re assisted by traffic controllers back onto the motorway to safely continue their journey.

A 4.5 kilometre contraflow will be in place to enable the closure of one carriageway each night with traffic control managing traffic in both directions and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h in place for the safety of workers and road users.

During the closure of the northbound carriageway, vehicles will be unable to use the Dust Bowl as a layover area.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and to follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
