Changed traffic conditions on Old Bathurst Road at Emu Plains

Published

Motorists are advised changed traffic conditions will continue on Old Bathurst Road and at the intersection of Old Bathurst Road and Smith Street Emu Plains as construction of a new roundabout progresses.

Where possible, work will be carried out during off-peak periods to minimise the impacts to the community. Transport for NSW will continue to monitor traffic in the area during this work and implement traffic control measures as required.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.

Night time road closures

Night work has been ongoing since Monday 30 January. Due to recent weather events and to reduce traffic impacts on road users, the scheduled night work will be extended to Friday 3 March 2023.

Old Bathurst Road between Great Western Highway and Smith Street will be closed for night work between 9pm and 5am weeknights only from Monday 20 February to Friday 3 March.

A detour will be in place via Russell Street. The closures will allow the safe relocation of a large water main and construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Old Bathurst Road and Smith Street as part of the Emu Plains Commuter Car Park project.

To minimise impact to motorists, Old Bathurst Road will be reopened as soon as work has been completed each night.

Transport for NSW thanks the community for their patience during this time.
