Changed traffic conditions on sections of Parker Street, Penrith
Update - Workers will be onsite for up to 11 night shifts between Sunday 4 May and Thursday 29 May 2025, weather permitting. Work hours will be between 8pm and 5am from Sunday to Thursday.
Road users are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Parker Street between the Great Western Highway and Jamison Road, Penrith.
These changes are for work to increase road user safety by improving the quality of the road surface and extending its lifespan in the area.
We will be onsite for up to 11 night shifts between Thursday 10 April and Wednesday 14 May, weather permitting. Work hours will be between 8pm and 5am from Sunday to Thursday. No work will occur on Friday, Saturday nights, or public holidays.
While we complete this work, there will be no access to of the following side streets from Parker Street, between High Street/Great Western Highway and Jamison Road:
· Barber Avenue, Lethbridge Street, Hope Street and Stafford Street.
· For northbound traffic from Jamison Road, detours will be in place to use Derby and Colless Streets.
· For southbound traffic from High Street/Great Western Highway, detours will be in place to use Derby Street and Somerset Street.
· Access to Nepean Hospital will remain at all times via Derby Street and Parker Street.
Parker Street will remain open at all times but will be reduced to a single lane with a traffic contraflow. Traffic control will be in place to assist road users and pedestrians. Road users are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers.
