Changed traffic conditions on the Sydney Harbour Bridge

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on Sydney Harbour Bridge beginning tonight and continuing into next week.

On the following dates, up to three traffic lanes on the Sydney Harbour Bridge deck will be closed as Sydney Trains rail deck upgrade works are carried out.

  • Friday 10 February – 11:59pm to 7am
  • Saturday 11 February – 10pm to 8am

On the following dates, up to five traffic lanes on the Sydney Harbour Bridge deck will be closed as maintenance work is carried out.

  • Sunday 12 February – 11pm to 4:30am
  • Monday 13 February – 10pm to 4.30am
  • Tuesday 14 February – 10pm to 4.30am
  • Wednesday 15 February – 10pm to 4.30am
  • Thursday 16 February – 10pm to 4.30am

Mobile maintenance work will also be carried out in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel on Thursday 16 February between 9pm and 5am. However, only sections of the lanes will be closed to motorists under mobile works.

Other changes across Sydney’s Road and Transport Network

Motorists are advised Burwood Road, Burwood, will be closed to traffic between Railway Parade and Victoria Street from 10pm Friday 10 February to 4am Monday 13 February for works on the railway bridge. This will not impact train services at Burwood.

Motorists are also advised of road closures and special event clearways on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 February, while filming takes place in the Sydney CBD.

From 6 am to 7pm each day sections of Bent St, Bligh St, Elizabeth St, Gresham St, Hunter St, King St, Loftus St, O’Connell St, Phillip Ln and Phillip St will be closed.

From 4am to 7pm each day special event clearway parking restrictions will be in effect on sections of Bathurst St, Bent St, Bligh St, Bridge St, Castlereagh St, Clarence St, College St, Elizabeth St, Hunter St, King St, Macquarie St, Market St, O’Connell St, Pitt St, Phillip St and St James Rd.

Bus routes which usually run to Martin Place and Circular Quay will divert from their regular routes and start/end trips from St James and Museum. For details, check transportnsw.info.

Commuters travelling on the North Shore, in western Sydney and to the airport should plan their trip in advance, as Sydney Trains carries out critical maintenance work on the network.

From 11pm Friday 10 February to 2am Monday 13 February, buses replace trains between Gordon and Wynyard on the T1 North Shore line. Trains will continue to run between Hornsby and Gordon while those on the T9 Northern line will run to a changed timetable.

Also from Friday night, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central on the T2 Inner West & Leppington line. Overnight on Saturday and Sunday, buses also replace trains between Merrylands and Strathfield.

Buses also replace trains between Lidcombe and Bankstown from 2am Saturday 11 February to 2am Monday 13 February on the T3 Bankstown line. 

On the T8 Airport & South line, from 9am to 3pm Saturday 11 February, buses replace trains between Wolli Creek and Revesby.
