City Circle the focus of Rail Repair Plan trackwork this weekend

Passengers travelling on the City Circle are urged to plan ahead as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork takes place this weekend.

On Saturday and Sunday, trains will not run on the City Circle. Passengers are able to use the light rail which runs between Circular Quay, Wynyard and Central, with extra services provided. Local buses are also available.

Racegoers attending the Everest at Royal Randwick can catch regular light rail services to the racecourse. Additional light rail services will run before and after the races.

For eventgoers attending Monster Jam or Wild Kpop Music Festival at Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday, T1 Western Line services will divert to Olympic Park station, and on the T7 Olympic Park Line, train services will operate every 10 minutes from Lidcombe station.

Essential trackwork will also take place on parts of the T1 North Shore & Western, T2 Inner West & Leppington, T3 Bankstown, T8 Airport & South and T9 Northern Lines, and passengers are advised to check their apps and transportnsw.info for live advice on their service changes.

Sydney Trains will have around 750 workers undertaking a significant amount of work to remove more than 100 high-priority defects.

On the Inner West Line from 10pm on Friday, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Ashfield. On Saturday and Sunday, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central.

On the Bankstown Line from 10pm on Friday, buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Bankstown. Trains run between Liverpool and Sydenham only.

On the Airport & South Line from 8:40am to 3pm on Saturday, buses replace allstations trains between Wolli Creek and Revesby. Express trains continue to run.

Intercity Services

On the South Coast Line, from 3am to 11am on Saturday, buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong, and between Dapto and Waterfall. From 2:30am to 9:50am on Sunday, buses replace trains between Bomaderry, Kiama and Wollongong.

On the Southern Highlands Line from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.
