Community invited to Nowra Bridge project information session
12 April 2021
The community is invited to an information session for the Nowra Bridge project to learn more about the work being carried out.
A Transport for NSW spokesperson said a highlight of the upcoming community information session will be a presentation on the construction process.
“The new bridge will be built using a specialised technique known as incremental launching,” the spokesperson said.
“The double-T bridge deck segments will be built in the casting yard on the southern foreshore and pushed across the Shoalhaven River with hydraulic jacks, with launching expected to start in the coming months.”
The community information session will be held at the community display centre at 14 Moss Street, Nowra on Wednesday 21 April between 5pm and 8pm.
The sessions will run for 30 minutes each and bookings are required by Friday 16 April.
If interest is high, the project team will run additional sessions to cater for demand.
Members of the community can register by calling toll free on 1800 331 713 or at Nowra Bridge project - Princes Highway upgrade, where they can find more information about the project and view the latest quarterly newsletter.
The community is also advised of changed traffic conditions at the intersection of Bridge Road and Scenic Drive near the work site, where new traffic control devices will be implemented to improve the safety of workers from Monday 12 April.
These include combinations of signage, flashing lights, portable boom gates and portable traffic signals which may also be implemented across the project on the Princes Highway and local roads.
Transport for NSW thanks the community for its patience while we implement these new devices and asks motorists to follow all signage and traffic control.
