Have your say on Mandagery Creek Bridge plans

The community is invited to have its say on the environmental and social impacts of a proposal to replace the Mandagery Creek Bridge on Henry Parkes Way in Manildra.

Acting Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole said the existing bridge, built in 1930, was in poor condition and would be replaced with a new concrete bridge in a staged build on the same road alignment before the demolition of the existing bridge.

“The bridge is an important link for road users travelling on the Henry Parkes Way between Orange and Parkes, and also for the Manildra local community as it links the local residents with the town centre,” Mr Toole said.

“The NSW Government is providing $12 million for a new concrete bridge that will be wider than the existing narrow lane structure and will meet modern design standards, catering for higher mass limit vehicles for improved freight access.

“The new Mandagery Creek Bridge will also cater to foot traffic and features a pedestrian footpath on the northern side.”

Transport for NSW has prepared a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) and is inviting public feedback on the REF from 12 October to 12 November, 2020.
