L2/L3 light rail shutdown this weekend

Published

Customers are advised to plan ahead, with a full weekend shutdown of L2 Randwick Line and L3 Kingsford Line light rail services on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 April.

Transport for NSW Acting Chief Operations Officer, Mark Hutchings says the shutdown will affect the entire L2/L3 alignment.

“Light rail services will not be running between Circular Quay and both Juniors Kingsford and Randwick over the weekend due to planned track and maintenance works.”

“During this time, customers will need to use alternative transport options” Mr Hutchings said.

Alternative transport options will include:
•    Replacement bus services between Central Chalmers Street and Randwick or Juniors Kingsford.
•    Trains or walking between Circular Quay and Central Chalmers Street.

Replacement bus services will run frequently from 5am to 1am daily.

“Normal L2 and L3 light rail services will resume at 5am Monday 24 April.”

“We thank customers for their patience as this essential work is carried out” Mr Hutchings said.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services will continue to run as per normal schedule.
Customers should allow extra travel time and use the Trip Planner or check travel alerts to see if your travel is affected.
