Menindee and Pooncarie residents invited to have their say on the future of local transport

Residents of Menindee and Pooncarie in the state’s far west are being invited to take part in a survey to discuss the future of transport in their area.
Transport for NSW Regional Director West Alistair Lunn said the survey would help to plan, prioritise and trial potential transport services for the region.
“In 2021, during a discussion with the Menindee community, Transport for NSW was made aware of the community's wish to connect to Wentworth and Mildura once the Pooncarie Road was sealed,” Mr Lunn said.
“Now, as the sealing of the Pooncarie Road nears completion, we aim to reconnect with these communities and further discuss this potential connection.
“We're interested in the Menindee and Pooncarie communities’ thoughts on local transport services, gaps and opportunities and we’re urging community members to complete a short survey to help us understand their transport needs.”
Residents in Menindee and Pooncarie can take part in the survey online until Sunday 12 May by visiting Have Your Say | Menindee and Pooncarie Transport.
Hard copies of the survey can be picked up or dropped off at the Menindee Rural Transport Centre and the Port Pitt Stop Cafe, Pooncarie.
Completed surveys can also be scanned and emailed to farwest1@transport.nsw.gov.au.
