Moree On Demand bus service to continue

Moree's popular On Demand bus service will continue, with Transport for NSW launching a new tender process to secure an operator for the next five years.

The tender process aims to award a new contract by late 2025, ensuring seamless and uninterrupted service for the community.

Bus operators and service providers are invited to submit a proposal to Transport for NSW by 13 June 2025.

The popular service has provided almost 450,000 trips since it started in November 2018, with over 107,000 trips in the 2023-2024 financial year alone.

The service provides a pre-booked, personalised and convenient service for Moree residents, connecting them to local transport hubs and popular destinations.

Transport for NSW Acting Regional Director West Holly Davies said this type of safe, reliable and accessible transport is vital for the community.

“The On-Demand bus service provides invaluable benefits by offering a convenient, door-to-door transport option for community members to access employment, healthcare, social connections, and everyday necessities such as shopping.

“As we approach the end of the current contract, our priority is to continue to provide this essential service for the community for the next five years.

“We’re running an open market tender that meets procurement standards and delivers the best option for the community.

“This is a flexible transport solution, which allows residents to travel from or near their homes to their desired destination within Moree,” she said.
