Normal timetable running on Sydney Trains network
Sydney Trains is running a normal timetable this morning following two days of disruption.
Services have been restored across both Suburban and Intercity lines and passengers can expect a good frequency.
Two of the damaged trains have resulted in two cancellations today, one for the T3 Central to Liverpool and one for the T1 Penrith to Hornsby. These have been designed to be minimal impact and only run during the peak. Otherwise, a full timetable is running today.
We thank the engineering crews who worked tirelessly to fix the issues on the ground, the operations staff in the Rail Operations Centre who got us back to timetabled services, and the station staff who helped passengers through a very difficult period.
We acknowledge how frustrating these past couple of days has been for passengers and apologise for the disruption.
Sydney Trains is undertaking a thorough investigation of the root cause and is committed to working closely with the independent reviewers as announced by the Premier yesterday.
The NSW Government has announced that this Monday 26 May will be a fare free day on the Sydney Trains and Metro network.
