Pedestrian upgrades for Garfield Road East at Riverstone

Published

Major pedestrian upgrades are set to begin along a critical road in Sydney’s north-west with work starting to improve pedestrian safety and accessibility along two sections of Garfield Road East.

Pedestrian refuges and new pram ramps will be installed near Pitt Street and Hamilton Street between Thursday 18 April and late June, weather permitting.

A new footpath is also being built near Hamilton Street.

These improvements will be particularly beneficial for wheelchair users as well as parents and caregivers using prams.

These upgrades will also support pedestrians to cross the road safely and quickly to reach their destination.

Transport for NSW has worked with the North West Business Chamber, Blacktown City Council and the wider community to enhance safety and accessibility through this upgrade.
