Rail Repair Plan moves to T3 Bankstown line

Published

The NSW Government's Rail Repair Plan will focus on the T3 Bankstown Line this weekend, with Western Sydney passengers advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.

On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July, buses replace trains between Cabramatta, Lidcombe and Sydenham as the team carries out essential maintenance.

We will have more than 500 rail workers working across the network with the focus on 48km of track on the T3 Bankstown line. The removal of 12 high-priority defects and track grinding is just some of the work they will be undertaking.

Trains will run as usual between Leppington, Cabramatta and the City via Granville, and between Sydenham and the City, but stopping at St Peters and Erskineville as well.

Passengers should also note that some trains will run to a changed timetable, including on the T1 North Shore, T1 Western and T9 Northern lines, until Monday 10 July. This is due to revitalisation trackwork at Central Station.

Passengers are advised to check their Opal app, or transportnsw.info for up-to-date information on their line.

Light Rail Disruptions

Track and maintenance work will mean light rail services will not be running from Circular Quay to Central from Friday 7 July to Monday 10 July. L2 and L3 services operate from Central Chalmers to Randwick or Juniors Kingsford only. Customers are advised to plan ahead and consider other modes of transport. More details here.
