Rail Repair Plan trackwork tackles part of T2 and T5 lines

Published

Passengers on the T2 Inner West & Leppington and T5 Cumberland Lines should plan ahead this weekend as essential Rail Repair Plan trackwork is carried out on part of the two lines.

This week, Sydney Trains will have 1000 workers on site to remove 105 high-priority defects and carry out more than 40km of track maintenance.

Buses will replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville on Saturday 12 August and Sunday 13 August.

T5 Cumberland Line passengers should change at Lidcombe for trains towards Leppington or Richmond and at Granville or Cabramatta for buses to Merrylands, Guildford, Yennora, Fairfield or Canley Vale.

In addition, on the T2 Inner West & Leppington Line, from 6.20am to 10.30am on Saturday, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central.

On Saturday only, on the T1 Western Line, T4 Eastern Suburb & Illawarra Line and South Coast Line, trains will run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern, and some passengers may need to change trains to complete their journey.
