Rail underpass along Woodbrook Road Casula reopens

Public transport passengers now have better access to Casula Station and commuter car park facilities, with work completed to reopen the underpass along Woodbrook Road.

The NSW Government and Liverpool City Council have worked together to upgrade and reopen the underpass between Powerhouse Road and Lakewood Crescent.

Liverpool City Council’s work included road resurfacing, upgrades to stormwater drainage, a new shared pathway, speed humps and height clearance restrictors at the railway underpass.

The upgraded underpass provides an alternative and shorter route for pedestrians and vehicles using Casula Station and commuter car park. The reopened Woodbrook Road underpass has a height restriction of 2.5 metres and is open for use from 6am to midnight each day.

This is the final part to improve commuter parking facilities at Casula Station together with the upgraded car park containing 67 spaces that opened in December 2021.

The community will benefit from better access to the commuter car park, Casula Station, Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre and Casula Parklands, while restrictions on through traffic opening times will help maintain safety and security for the surrounding residential areas.

The result will mean less travel time for commuters wanting to access these locations.
