Work is set to begin mid-next year on a new left turn lane on the roundabout at New Lake Entrance Road and Pioneer Drive (PDF, 98.63 KB) to help reduce congestion around the Oak Flats interchange.

Recent traffic modelling work carried out by Transport for NSW revealed a new left turn lane on New Lake Entrance Road — on the southern approach to the roundabout — would help reduce queueing from the interchange to the roundabout and relieve congestion for motorists travelling into Shellharbour.
