School zones extended for Quakers Hill Public School student safety

The NSW Government is extending the school zone at Quakers Hill Public School in Quakers Hill to improve safety for students in this growing community.

The new extension will ensure the new pedestrian access to the school is covered by a 40 km/h school zone.

School zones help protect children on their way to and from school, with lower speed limits reducing the risk of serious injury from a crash.

The extension at Quakers Hill Public School will see signage relocated and 40 km/h road markings, flashing lights and dragon’s teeth installed on Medlow Drive.

Work on the zone will take place over two day shifts and one night shift between Wednesday 9 and Sunday 13 October. Our day work hours are 7am to 6pm and our night works hours are 8pm to 5am. We will not work on Friday night or on Saturday.

The new 40 km/h speed limit will apply once the signage has been installed and will operate from 8am to 9.30am and from 2.30pm to 4pm on official school days.

Temporary lane closures will be in place to make sure the work zone is safe and travel times may be affected but local traffic access will always be maintained.
