Motorists are advised of disruptions to vehicular ferry services across Sydney next week due to planned industrial action.

The Maritime Union of Australia is conducting Protected Industrial Action in relation to Birdon Vehicular Ferries, the contractor operating on behalf of Transport for NSW.

Vehicular ferry services at Sackville, Webbs Creek, Wisemans Ferry and Berowra will stop operation from 6am Monday 19 to 6am Tuesday 20 February.

The vehicular ferry at Mortlake will not operate on Monday 19 February between 6.45am and 6.25pm.

Emergency services and school buses needing to cross at these locations will not be affected by the disruptions and will be able to cross during these periods.

The community is advised to plan ahead and use services outside of these hours or take a detour.

Motorists wanting to cross the river at Sackville and Webbs Creek ferry crossings will need to detour via Windsor, adding 35 minutes and 1 hour to travel times respectively.

Motorists wanting to cross at Wisemans Ferry will need to take a detour to the south via Old Northern Road, Mid Dural Road, Gaston Road, Pacific Highway, Old Pacific Road to Wisemans Ferry Road, adding 2 hours 25 minutes to travel times.

Motorists wanting to cross at Berowra will need to detour via Pacific Highway, Arcadia and Galston Roads, adding 20 minutes to travel times.

Motorists wanting to cross at Mortlake will need to detour via Ryde Bridge, adding 10 minutes to travel times.

Transport for NSW apologises for any inconvenience during this time.
