T1 North Shore and T3 Bankstown Lines affected this weekend by Rail Repair Plan trackwork

Published

Passengers on the T1 North Shore Line and T3 Bankstown Line should plan ahead this weekend as Rail Repair Plan trackwork teams carry out essential maintenance work.

On the T1 North Shore Line, buses will replace trains between Gordon and Wynyard on Friday night from 10.50pm to 2am before extending all the way to Hornsby for the whole weekend.

Buses also replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham on the T3 Bankstown line all weekend as Metro works also make use of the Rail Repair Plan track possession. Trains will run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park.

Trains will run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern on the City Circle, T1 Western Line, T2 Inner West & Leppington Line, T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line, T8 Airport & South Line and T9 Northern Line.

Customers are advised to check transportnsw.info and their travel apps as well as indicator boards at stations.

Blue Mountains Line

Essential maintenance on the Blue Mountains Line will see buses replace trains at three stations – Lithgow, Zig Zag and Bell – for two weeks from 2am Monday 28 August to 10pm Friday 8 September.

Trains will continue to run between Mount Victoria and Central, some to a changed timetable.

Apart from routine maintenance work in the Zig Zag Tunnel, other work will assist in the delivery of the Lithgow Area Remodelling project, including upgrades of the overhead wiring and signalling system.

On weekdays, Bathurst trains will run between Bathurst and Mount Victoria or Central to a changed timetable. Trains will not stop at Lithgow but they will make an extra stop at Blackheath.

However, on the weekend, from 10pm Friday, buses will replace trains between Bathurst and Blacktown in both directions.

Trackwork Next Week
