T3 Bankstown train services disrupted by urgent repairs at Sefton

Published

Sydney Trains customers travelling on the T3 Bankstown line between Bankstown, Cabramatta and Lidcombe are experiencing disruptions due to urgent repairs to overhead wiring at Sefton.

Due to damaged overhead wiring on the line, no trains are running between Bankstown, Lidcombe and Cabramatta in both directions as repairs are carried out.

Train replacement buses have been organised and are operating from Cabramatta to Lidcombe and Bankstown stations in that direction only and between Bankstown and Lidcombe stations in both directions.

Trains continue to run as follows:

• from the City to Liverpool

• from Liverpool to the City via Granville and Strathfield

• Lidcombe services operate to Bankstown only and return

• additional services operate between the City and Lidcombe via Strathfield.

Passengers are urged to allow plenty of extra travel time and should consider using a T2 Inner West & Leppington Line service to travel to or from the City if possible.

Commuters can also utilise local bus route M92 between Lidcombe and Bankstown as an alternative.

Our engineering crews are working hard to repair the issue as quickly as possible, however it is expected these disruptions will continue throughout the afternoon peak, with reduced frequency and services.

Please listen to staff and announcements at stations as we keep customers up to date with the latest impacts to services.

Customers are advised to plan their journey by visiting transportnsw.info or using the trip planning apps on their mobile devices.

Sydney Trains apologises for this inconvenience. The safety of our passengers and providing a regular service remain our priorities.
