Weekend Events

More than 30,000 AFL fans will descend on Moore Park this Saturday night for the Swans clash against Essendon. Around 15,000 music fans will also be attending the KnotFest music festival at neighbouring Centennial Park. Attendees are encouraged to leave the car at home and catch public transport with travel included with tickets to both events.

Expect heavy traffic and delays in the evening, with both events due to finish at the same time, around 10pm. Roads will be closed around the precinct between 8.30pm and midnight to allow crowds to safely leave the area.

Extra light rail services will run before and after the events, with the L1 line also extended until midnight. Shuttle buses will be running from Moore Park back to Central to help fans get home. Passengers are asked to be patient and allow extra travel time.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area while closures are in place.

For those travelling to the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, for the Easter Show between 22 March and 2 April 2024, more information can be found here.
