Train and coach timetable adjustments in western NSW
Passengers in western NSW are advised of some timetable adjustments to train and connecting public transport coach services taking effect from Sunday 29 June.
Transport for NSW continually aims to improve customer experience and the reliability of train services for passengers.
The changes are being introduced as part of a regular review of train services and to prepare for deployment of the new Mariyung fleet of intercity trains on the Blue Mountains Line.
There will be some adjustments to timetables for Sydney Trains intercity services to Lithgow and Bathurst, NSW TrainLink train services to Dubbo and Broken Hill and a range of NSW TrainLink regional coach services in western NSW.
No services are being removed, and no new services are being introduced.
For intercity train services on the Blue Mountains Line, there will be changes to arrival and departure times of 38 weekday and 32 weekend services.
For Dubbo XPTs, there will be timing adjustments to services in both directions, on weekdays and weekends.
As well, the Sydney to Broken Hill XPLORER on Mondays and the return XPLORER on Tuesdays will have minor timing adjustments.
A range of NSW TrainLink regular timetabled coach services throughout western NSW and parts of southern NSW will also see minor adjustments at some stops.
These include services between Coolabah and Brewarrina, Parkes and Orange, Bathurst and Grenfell, Orange and Lithgow, Parkes and Lithgow, Queanbeyan and Wagga Wagga, and Condobolin and Wagga Wagga.
NSW TrainLink Chief Executive Roger Weeks said the adjustments are part of ongoing tweaks to the train timetable introduced across the Sydney Trains network in October last year, based on operator and passenger feedback.
“We advise passengers in western NSW that while some of these timing adjustments coming into place from 29 June are relatively minor, a train or coach you previously caught could now arrive a little earlier or later, so you need to plan ahead.”
“We know passengers may need to drive some distance to connect with our train and coach services, so we want everyone to be aware there may be an adjustment to our services and they should factor that into their journey.
“Prior to their trip, passengers should visit the transportnsw.info website, check travel apps, and if they’re using a NSW TrainLink booked service, refer to the details outlined in their booking and any relevant SMS updates to ensure they’ve got the times right.”
