Train services continue to experience delays this afternoon

Sydney Trains services will continue to experience delays this afternoon due to protected industrial action impacting the maintenance of infrastructure at Redfern.

Industrial action by the Electrical Trades Union caused significant delays during this morning’s peak, and delays are expected to continue in the evening peak.

T1 North Shore, T1 Western, T9 Northern, Blue Mountains, and Central Coast & Newcastle line services have been the most affected.

In total this morning, 61 heavy rail services were delayed while another 23 were cancelled. On average, passengers experienced around 10-minute delays.

Sydney Trains again apologises to our passengers for the delays experienced and thanks everybody for their understanding as staff worked to minimise this disruption.

We continue to advise passengers to plan ahead and check the latest updates before making their journey and allow extra travel time.

The Rail Agencies and the Combined Rail Unions (CRU) are continuing to bargain for a new Enterprise Agreement for Sydney Trains and NSW Trains employees.

The CRU have also notified the Rail Agencies that their members intend to take further industrial action next week.

We are working through the full impact of these planned actions and will update passengers as soon as possible of any potential disruption to services.
