Train timetable adjustments from April 19
School students travelling on the T1 North Shore Line will benefit from timetable changes due to take effect in the coming weeks, which will also see changes to some train services on the T5 Cumberland, Hunter, Central Coast and Newcastle lines.
From 19 April 2025, Sydney Trains are extending some T1 North Shore services from Hornsby to Berowra, improving connectivity for school students travelling home on the T1 line in both directions.
As a result, minor adjustments will also be made to the departure times of some weekday afternoon services for all stations on the North Shore line from Hornsby to Roseville.
On the T5 Cumberland Line, adjustments will be made to the departure times of eight weekday off-peak services, improving connections for passengers interchanging to T1 Western Line services at Seven Hills travelling towards the Sydney CBD.
Commuters travelling on the Hunter Line will see minor changes to some services to help reduce waiting times at Hamilton.
Sydney Trains Chief Executive Matt Longland said the adjustments are part of ongoing tweaks to the new train timetable introduced late last year, based on operator and passenger feedback.
“Last year Sydney Trains introduced the biggest adjustment to the timetable since 2017 and we have been monitoring services closely to identify where improvements could be made.
“These changes are only minor, but it could mean the train you previously caught now arrives a little earlier or later, or there are additional services available which weren’t an option previously.
“For these reasons, we suggest people visit the transportnsw.info website or check travel apps before your trip, listen for station announcements and check information screens on platforms.”
The adjustments are part of a regular review of services by Sydney Trains and its ongoing efforts to reduce delays and offer more reliable services that reflect passenger travel habits.
Information about the timetable adjustments, will be available on www.transportnsw.info from tomorrow.
