Everest Day – Everest Carnival, Royal Randwick Racecourse

Up to 40,000 racegoers will attend Everest Day at Royal Randwick on Saturday 14 October and they are urged to consider all travel options as traffic will be very heavy in the area.

Extra, frequent light rail services will operate before and after the races between Central and Royal Randwick. Light rail will run regularly across the day to Royal Randwick on the L2 Line or to Kensington on the L3 Line, which is a short walk from the racecourse. Plenty of regular route buses also run to the racecourse.

Race day tickets include travel on public transport, simply show your ticket to transport staff when accessing the public transport system.

If you must drive, consider car-pooling and allow plenty of extra travel time as roads around the precinct will be congested. There is on-site parking at the racecourse Infield carpark via High St.

If you’re using rideshare and taxis, use the dedicated drop off zone on Darley Rd or the dedicated taxi rank at the racecourse entry on Ascot St.

Events at Sydney Olympic Park

Olympic Park will be busy on Saturday 14 October with a combined crowd of 60,000 expected to attend Monster Jam at Accor Stadium and a Kpop music festival at Qudos Bank Arena.

Parking in the precinct has been selling fast. Heavy traffic is expected on roads approaching the area, so fans are urged to allow extra travel time and consider the public transport options to avoid traffic delays.

Extra trains will run to and from Olympic Park and travel is included for Monster Jam ticketholders.

Trackwork on City Circle and other lines

Please be aware no trains will run on the City Circle on Saturday and Sunday as part of planned trackwork. Passengers can use light rail services between Circular Quay, Wynyard and Central, with extra services running. Local buses are also available.

Essential trackwork will also take place on parts of the T2 Inner West, T3 Bankstown and T8 Airport & South Lines.

Passengers are encouraged to plan ahead by visiting transportnsw.info or using trip planning apps.
