Walgett and Brewarrina residents invited to help tailor future transport services

Residents of Walgett and Brewarrina in the state’s far north-west have the chance to help shape the future of transport in their communities by taking part in a survey.
Transport for NSW Regional Director West Alistair Lunn said the survey would provide information on current service gaps and opportunities.
“The focus will be on identifying the opportunities for transport services across the towns of Walgett and Brewarrina and surrounding areas,” Mr Lunn said.
“We have already consulted with existing service providers in Walgett and understand their perspectives and now it’s time to hear the voices of the community to create a holistic approach to the ways people use public transport.”
The short survey can be accessed online for Walgett at www.haveyoursay.nsw.gov.au/walgett-transport or for Brewarrina at www.haveyoursay.nsw.gov.au/brewarrina-transport.
Hard copies are available at the Walgett Shire Council administration office or Brewarrina Local Aboriginal Land Council.
The survey will be open to residents across Walgett and nearby Namoi and Gingie villages as well as Brewarrina from Wednesday 13 March to Wednesday 27 March.
Transport for NSW is also carrying out face-to-face consultation at:
•    Walgett: Tuesday 19 March at Mission Australia, 68 Fox Street, between 10am and 11am.
•    Brewarrina: Wednesday 20 March at Memorial Park between 10am and 11am.
“We are very keen to hear from the community to gain an understanding of how to tailor services that best suit the needs of those living in these areas,” Mr Lunn said.
“We look forward to working with residents on planning the future of transport in Brewarrina and Walgett.”
