Works across Sydney’s road and transport network

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Harbour Tunnel for maintenance and project works.

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Up to 5 lanes on the Sydney Harbour Bridge deck will close for maintenance and upgrade works from tonight:

  • Friday 12 April: 11pm – 8am
  • Saturday 13 April: 10pm - 8am
  • Sunday 14 April: 10pm – 4:30am
  • Monday 15 April: 10pm – 4:30am
  • Tuesday 16 April: 10pm – 4:30am
  • Wednesday 17 April: 10pm – 4:30am
  • Thursday 18 April: 10pm – 4:30am

Motorists can use other lanes on the Sydney Harbour Bridge or drive through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel as an alternative route during these times.

Both southbound lanes of the Sydney Harbour Tunnel will close from 10pm to 6am tonight, Friday, 12 April. From Tuesday, 16 April to Thursday, 18 April, one of the two lanes in each direction will be closed from 10pm to 5am for maintenance.

Motorists can use the other available lanes or drive over the Sydney Harbour Bridge during these times.  

Essential trackwork

Passengers are advised to plan for the upcoming weekend, April 13-14, as scheduled trackwork and recovery efforts continue from recent severe weather.

Planned trackwork is scheduled on key sections of T1 North Shore and Western, T2 Leppington, T3 Bankstown, and T7 Olympic Park lines.

On intercity train services, buses will replace trains on key sections of the South Coast and Southern Highlands Line for essential maintenance and upgrades.

As part of the Sydney Metro City and Southwest project, rail upgrade work will take place between Sydenham and Bankstown from Saturday, 13 April, to Wednesday, 24 April. During this time, buses will replace trains on the T3 Bankstown line, with additional buses at peak times.

On Saturday, 13 April, and Sunday, 14 April, buses will replace Metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood on the Metro North West Line due to planned trackwork and testing for the upcoming metro extension into the Sydney CBD.
