Boating Incidents in NSW 2022

This report analyses boating incident statistics over the 10 years to 30 June 2021 – focussing on the 10 priority safety issues identified in the Maritime Safety Plan 2017-2021 and an 11th issue (boater age) identified during the lifetime of that plan. It also examines long-term trends in fatalities, serious injuries and in the rates of drowning and non-drowning fatalities.

The report provides a final picture of safety performance against the former Maritime Safety Plan and has helped shape the Maritime Safety Plan 2022-2026.
