NSW guidelines for bicycle road races

TfNSW, the NSW Police Force and Cycling NSW has compiled the guidelines to outline the process for obtaining approval to conduct bicycle racing on roads and highways in NSW (PDF, 1.69 MB) (PDF, 1.69 MB). This explains the minimum requirements for conducting a bicycle race.

Included in the guidelines are:

  • Safety requirements.
  • Traffic control plans and signage.
  • Traffic controllers and required training.
  • Race planning.
  • Traffic management requirements.
