Recreational Vessels Advisory Group
The purpose of the Recreational Vessel Advisory Group (RVAG) is to enable strategic two-way engagement between NSW Maritime and key state-wide recreational vessel member associations that informs the delivery of safe customer trips, best-practice NSW waterway regulation, legislation, policies, and initiatives to make NSW waterways better places to live, work and play.
Membership is made up of a range of boating industry and community representatives who are either NSW state-based, or who may belong to groups which have, or represent, national organisations. This provides RVAG with a cross-border perspective which is useful when considering issues that may impact interstate visitors to NSW waters.

What’s happening now?
Transport for NSW Maritime has recently reviewed the Terms of Reference (TOR) under which RVAG operates. A copy of the new TOR can be found in Documents below. This process has resulted in all positions on the Group being declared vacant and a recruitment drive starting from 19 July 2023 to recruit new members.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the future RVAG, we encourage you to read the TOR and if you are qualified, to apply on the form below..
Applications should be emailed to rvag@transport.nsw.gov.au no later than 5:00pm on 16 July 2023. You will be notified of our decision following 19 July and the first meeting of the new RVAG will take place in early August.
