The NSW Government is funding important repair and maintenance work on Bawden Bridge, Chambigne, west of Grafton, to improve safety and ensure it continues to serve the community long into the future.

October 2024 – Have your say - Review of Environmental Factors on display
Transport has prepared a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) (PDF, 6.35 MB) to determine the potential environmental and social impacts, and proposed mitigation measures for the maintenance and repair work on Bawden Bridge.
The REF will be on display for comment until Sunday 27 October 2024.
Learn more and meet the project team at drop-in sessions on Tuesday 15 October 2024 at the Waterview Heights Squash Club, 27-39 Rogan Bridge Road, Waterview Heights.
These will be informal sessions, with no presentation, so come any time between 11am and 1pm or 3:30pm to 5:00pm.
Hard copies are available to view at 76 Victoria Street, Grafton, Monday to Friday between 8am -4pm during the display period.

December 2023 - Early Consultation Report
Transport for NSW is planning essential repair and maintenance work and carried out early consultation activities to allow the community to provide feedback to inform the planning for the work.
Transport invited the community to provide feedback on the planned work through three different channels.

Transport would like to thank the 25 people in the community who took the time to provide their valuable feedback.

Background
Bawden Bridge, which was built in 1873, is a heritage lattice truss bridge over the Orara River at Chambigne, about 19km west of Grafton.
