Project overview

The NSW Government will be carrying out road resurfacing works as part of the major maintenance program scheduled for Canterbury Road and Old Canterbury Road in 2024.

Several sections along Canterbury Road and Old Canterbury Road will undergo maintenance to provide smoother and safer road surfaces with consistent driving conditions.

These works will cover the following areas:

  • Canterbury Road between Chapel Road, Bankstown and Cooks River, Canterbury
  • Old Canterbury Road between Toothill Street and Parramatta Road, Lewisham.

Between March and October 2024 work will include:

  • concrete slab replacement
  • asphalt resurfacing
  • slab jacking
  • crack sealing of joints

To minimise traffic disruption and maintain safety for workers and motorists, working hours are 8pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday, from March to October 2023.

During this work, some parking may be impacted for short periods. Residents will be notified of upcoming parking changes prior to work.

Further detail will be provided to community members as the work progresses at each location. We encourage you to sign up for regular updates and welcome your enquiries and feedback by email info.harbour@connectsydney.com.au or call 1800 735 563
