Project status

Planning and concept design development is under way for an upgrade at Kotara Station.

Before we get started

Transport for NSW has carried out early engagement with various groups including people with disabilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and women and girls from the local community to help inform the concept design.

These engagements included workshops with people with disabilities, a Safer Cities Program workshop to understand women and girls’ perceptions of safety, and collaborative Connecting with Country events to understand the unique and enduring relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their ancestral lands, waters and natural resources.

Transport is now developing the concept design. Transport will continue to engage with the community, including Newcastle City Council, and will continue discussions with stakeholders to seek feedback on the concept design.
