The previous analogue MetroNet Train Radio System is now being removed across the rail network.
Project overview
Transport for NSW has installed a new Digital Train Radio System (DTRS). The DTRS is improving communications between train drivers, controllers and guards across the electrified network. The previous analogue MetroNet Train Radio System is now being removed across the entire Sydney Trains network.
Current planned works will take place across Sydney, Newcastle, Lithgow and Kiama.
Project status
Work commenced Monday 13 May 2019.
