Moreton Park Road Access Study

Transport is continuing to work with Wollondilly Shire Council and property developers to provide a safe and efficient connection between the Hume Motorway and Moreton Park Road, Menangle.

Moreton Park Road is strategically positioned to support future employment lands in Menangle. Employment lands are areas set aside for industrial zoning or similar purposes.

The employment lands in the area are generally bound by the Hume Motorway to the west and the Nepean River to the east. The Hume Motorway serves as a major freight route for the region, forms the backbone for the National Land Transport Network and will be a critical link to the employment lands. 

With Moreton Park Road running parallel to the Hume Motorway, Transport prepared an access study to identify options for new interchanges to facilitate a connection. A road interchange is a junction where different roads or motorways meet, allowing vehicles to switch between them without stopping unlike at an intersection. 

The planned interchanges connecting Moreton Park Road and The Hume Motorway would also provide access to the future Outer Sydney Orbital network and the urban land releases in the Greater Macarthur Growth Area.
