Project overview

As part of the Road Safety Stimulus Project - a joint Australian and NSW Government investment, Transport for NSW (Transport) is upgrading the intersection at Pacific Highway and Miller Street, North Sydney, to improve pedestrian safety and increase capacity.

October 2023 - work to start on Sunday 22 October

Intersection improvements

Improvements include:

  • increasing safety for pedestrians by making the temporary slip lane closure from Pacific Highway into Miller Street permanent
  • adding red arrow protection at the Pacific Highway crossings
  • widening the existing crossing on Miller Street towards the new Metro Station (due to be opened in 2024)
  • making crucial stormwater drain repairs on the Pacific Highway, near this intersection

Work schedule

Work will take place at night from Sunday 22 October 2023 to late February 2024, weather permitting.

To minimise daytime disruptions to traffic and pedestrians, our standard work hours will be between 8pm and 5am, Monday to Friday.

To shorten construction duration, we will be working continuously over two weekends during the construction period. Further information regarding these shifts will be shared with the community when details are confirmed.
