Project overview

Transport for NSW is delivering key intersection improvements on Pitt Town Road. The improvements to Pitt Town Road are made possible by a $7 million grant from infrastructure contributions secured by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment through planning agreements with developers active in the Pitt Town area.

Aug 2020 - Pitt Town Road and Saunders Road intersection complete

Project information

Background

Transport for NSW is delivering much needed work to improve roads in the Pitt Town area, including intersection improvements along Pitt Town Road, between Windsor Road, McGraths Hill and Glebe Road, Pitt Town.

Two Pitt Town Road intersection improvements are now completed:

  • Pitt Town Road/Charles Street
  • Pitt Town Road/Pitt Town Bottoms Road/ Saunders Road

The improvements to the intersections include road widening and shoulder extensions at the Charles Street and Saunders Road intersections.

Benefits

Benefits to the community include:

  • improved travel times, particularly in peak hours
  • improved traffic flow at the intersections and approaches
  • reduced congestion
  • improved safety for road users.
