Project information

Background

The A6 is a major arterial road linking the northern and western suburbs to the inner western suburbs. Road users travelling through the intersection of Stacey Street and Greenacre Road currently experience delays due to reduced capacity of the turning bays on Greenacre Road. This causes vehicles to queue, causing congestion at the intersection.

Project

The proposed work included:

  • extending the right turn lane from Greenacre Road into Stacey Street
  • removing six parking spaces (three on either side) of Greenacre Road
  • line marking and installing signage on Greenacre Road and Stacey Street.

Benefits

Benefits of the proposed project included:

  • improved journey time reliability and reduce travel times for road users
  • increased capacity for vehicles turning right from Greenacre Road into Stacey Street and improved safety by reducing the occurrence of queuing.

Community information

Community consultations
