Woodford Station Upgrade

The Safe Accessible Transport program aims to make public transport safer, inclusive and easy to use for all passengers, especially people with disabilities, older people, people with prams or luggage and others who may be experiencing mobility problems.

Key benefits (subject to design development)

• installation of new lifts and a ramp
• upgrades to the existing underpass
• platform resurfacing
• upgrading existing toilets to be family accessible
• modifications to the waiting room
• installation of a boarding assistance zone
• modifications to existing parking to improve accessibility and provide a kiss and ride zone
• making existing station facilities accessible
• bicycle parking
• improvements to lighting and wayfinding
• security upgrades including installation of CCTV

Project status

Planning is underway for an upgrade at Woodford Station.

Transport consulted with the community and other stakeholders throughout 2024 and 2025, inviting feedback on the early concept design. Feedback provided has been considered in the finalisation of the concept design for the upgrade.

In the coming months, Transport will be releasing the final concept designs for all three Blue Mountains stations - Lawson, Mount Victoria and Woodford. 

While funding is not yet available for delivery of the upgrade at Woodford Station, the feedback we have received is valuable and will help inform the design for future delivery.

Pending funding for project delivery, the next phase of the project would include Review of Environmental Factor (REF) for Planning Approval and detailed design development prior to commencing construction.
