Motorists travelling westbound on the Great Western Highway at Mount Victoria are advised of two single lane closures due to pavement cracking.

These closures are in place until further notice for the safety of all road users after cracks appeared following continued wet weather.

Crews are monitoring and assessing these cracks, which are on the far left of the closed sections of the left lane, and will determine the next steps required to carry out repairs.

Westbound motorists should take extra care along a 300-metre section of the highway about 300 metres west of the of Mitchell Ridge Lookout turn off. Additionally, there is a 400 metre lane closure about 700 metres west of this location.

Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h is place through these sections for the safety of workers and motorists.

Motorists are advised to plan their trip, allow extra time when travelling through the Blue Mountains and to obey signs and the instructions of traffic control.
