TZP24 Travel Zone Map Explorer

This visualisation displays Travel Zone Projections 2024 (TZP24) data for population and employment for New South Wales.

Transport for NSW develops these projections at a small-area level (known as Travel Zones) for transport planning and modelling purposes. They are used as inputs in various travel models to determine indicators such as number of trips generated, travel mode demand, traffic volumes, freight movement and travel costs.

The projections align with the agreed information assets used across NSW Government known as NSW Common Planning Assumptions, such as the 2024 NSW Population Projections prepared by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure and the 2024 NSW Employment Projections prepared by Victoria University. TZP24 is the NSW Common Planning Assumption for small area projections of Population and Employment.
