Grant programs
We’re paving the way for longer-term changes to public spaces across NSW by working with local councils through a number of grant programs. These programs enable councils and communities to reimagine their local public spaces like their streets, laneways, plazas and more, as places people want to spend time in, are proud of and cherish. Round 2 of Streets as Shared Spaces and Your High Street are currently underway.

Open Streets Program
The Open Streets Program will support councils across NSW to temporarily close streets and bring them to life with community events and activities.
Vibrant Streets Package
The Vibrant Streets Package is a $15 million investment to reimagine and re-energise our streets, transforming them into vibrant public spaces for people.
Streets as Shared Spaces Program
We’re supporting councils to trial projects that test permanent changes that strengthen the amenity, accessibility and economic vitality of high streets and surrounding areas.
Your High Street Program
We’re working with councils across NSW to make permanent improvements to the amenity and functionality of their high streets.
